Reviewer quote:

“As with all LadyLit mini-anthologies, this book was amazing!!! Ms Bishop is a magician with a typewriter. She is able to draw her readers into her stories and not let go of them. From rough and tough to tender and lovely, her lesbian romps are sizzling, spicy and seductive… Each story from Ms. Bishop is a wonderful gift to my senses and emotions!!”

Excerpt from “Mermaids and Mosaics.”

Lydia watched Abby as she hustled out of the solarium. It was nice having her here. Almost without thinking, she walked toward the ladder, intent on seeing what it was Abby had created. Guilt warred with need and need won out. Standing under the skylight, Lydia looked up. Her eyes scanned over the piece and she sucked in a sharp intake of air. She was staring at her own face. The mermaid was her. Tears stung her eyes.

“Why would you make a mosaic of me?” She whispered. A single tear slid down her face.

She didn’t hear Abby come back into the room until it was too late. She stood in the doorway, a fresh shirt and sweats hugging her compact body, making her as irresistible now as she had been when they first met. Their eyes met and Lydia gasped. She was caught.

Excerpt from “Pumpernickel”

“I’m sorry, Mistress. Please forgive this girl for acting out in her frustration.” Libby got down from the chair and sank down in front of Miriam. The wooden floor was cool against the bare skin of her legs and her knees protested as they hit the edge of the area rug.

Miriam stared down at Libby, an icy frown freezing her face into an immovable mask. “Crawl to the corner.” She fished in her pocket and pulled out a penny. “Against the wall with your nose. If that penny falls, then your punishment goes up. Five minutes.”

Libby knelt in the corner. Her nose held up the penny and her mind raced. What would she do to her? Forgetting about the rejection, she focused on her Mistress and how to account  for her impertinence. Libby was concentrating so hard on mashing her nose against the wall, she almost didn’t hear Miriam return.

“Alright. Time’s up. Come over here and pull down your shorts. I have a bottom to tan.”

Desire coursed through Libby’s center as she slid her panties and shorts off and onto the floor.

Writing short erotic romance:

Writing short erotic romance is a fun way to keep writing and have a plethora of stories to excite the reader. In Sweet Seductions I explore life on a cruise ship, derby girl antics on and off the playing field, a crochet class I would want to attend and an author who gets a taste of what discipline and hard work can mean when her Mistress takes on her attitude.

When I first began my writing career I started with a novel and found it to be a bit too much. Then I read an interesting thought by Ray Bradbury. If you write one short story a week, sooner or later you won’t be terrible. I’ve taken his words to heart and am almost always pounding away at the keyboard composing this or that, slowing gaining in word count to write a much larger work, all the while enjoying the path less taken so to speak.

All writers have different paths to find their way. Short erotic romance was mine and I couldn’t be happier. Story after story, I meet more fans, create new worlds to explore and have a marvelous time finding out just what people are dying to read about.

What sorts of erotic romance do you like? What do you want to see more of?

Mature women are on the prowl in ‘Cougars’, Ladylit’s new collection of lusty lesbian tales in which older ladies seduce younger ones… or the other way around. An ageing rock star has it bad for the singer of the latest hit band in Harper Bliss’s ‘Reunion Tour’. In Cheyenne Blue’s ‘Gorgon and Goat’ cheese plays its part in bringing two women together, while in Laila Blake’s ‘The Girl Next Door’ it’s a blackout in an apartment building that does the trick. Erzabet Bishop and Lucy Felthouse bring their usual light-heartedness to their stories of, respectively, an older airplane passenger in first class who has a young flight attendant all to herself, and a girl walking her dog who needs to return a stray pup she encounters on her path. ‘Cougars’ contains five mature tales of lesbian desire, in which gray strands of hair are a turn-on, and age and experience are celebrated, not ignored.

Caution: This title contains graphic language and mature f/f sex and is suitable for adults only.

Forbidden Fruit: Stories of Unwise Lesbian Desire and a visit with Niki Crow and Sacchi Green

Standard

forbiddenfruit_v4_highres

Hello! I’m Niki Crow and I’ll be entertaining you today. I am a writer of lesbian and bisexual erotica and the reason I’m guest blogging here today is that I have a story in the excellent anthology “Forbidden Fruit: stories of unwise lesbian desire”. So does the lovely Sacchi Green, who I’ll be interviewing today as a part of the anthology’s release blog tour. Sacchi Green is an American writer of erotica and speculative fiction, a lovely lady, and her contribution to “Forbidden Fruit: stories of unwise lesbian desire” is an amazing (and hot!) story titled “Sunset, Sunrise”. But before we get down to the Qs and the As, I would like to thank another great author, Erzabet Bishop, for letting me use this space. Thank you, Erzabet! Now, on to Sacchi Green’s interview.

1. Your bio states you write erotica “and other stimulating genres”. What are the other genres, and which is your favorite?

Science fiction and fantasy, lumped together as speculative fiction, were my first loves, and I published just enough short stories under the name Connie Wilkins to qualify for SFWA, Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Then I was distracted by the erotic side of The Force, and have been writing mostly erotica (sometimes blended with fantasy) for the last ten years or more. As to which is my favorite, well, I don’t see them as all that different from each other.

2. What made you start writing erotica?

I jumped right in as soon as I saw a Call for Submissions for Best Lesbian Erotica 1999. I’d been writing speculative fiction with erotic undercurrents anyway, and the market for erotica anthologies was really taking off, so I went with the flow.

3. What are your current projects?

I have an anthology called Me and My Boi: Queer Erotic Stories coming out from CleisPress next spring, and there’s still work to do with contracts, galley proofs, etc. I’ve also got another one contracted, stories chosen but not yet edited and turned in a as manuscript, called The Princess’s Bride: Lesbian Fairy Tale Erotica, which is a big thrill because it lets me blend erotica and fantasy. As far as writing stories of my own—well, the deadlines for the ones I plan to write aren’t all that close yet. I hope.

4. And now something completely off-topic: I heard you (like me) like to make preserves. Which is your favorite and why?

Long ago I used to go the whole route, pressure canner for veggies, etc., but I haven’t done that for many years. I freeze a few veggies from my garden, mostly stewed tomatoes and ratatouille, but making jams and chutneyis the most fun. I’ve taken to blending recipes, for instance using one third raspberries, one thirdpeaches, and one third pears, or adding crystallized ginger to peaches or pears. I’m also experimenting with reduced-sugar recipes.

5. Tell me about your story “Sunset, Sunrise” in “Forbidden Fruit: stories of unwise lesbian desire”.

“Sunset, Sunrise” was one of the rare stories that seem to write themselves. I seldom model my characters on real people, but this time I came dangerously close. Maybe the less said about that, the better. I do know the (slightly fictionalized) setting well, though, and have always wished I had a talent for arts like sculpture and painting, so writing the point-of-view character was a self-indulgent pleasure. I also enjoy writing about characters who aren’t all that young or conventionally attractive, so that part was self-indulgent, too.

“Not that Trouble, with a definite capital T, was actually looking my way. The big salt-and-pepper butch had eyes (and hands—such broad, strong hands.) only for the gorgeous young redhead who made voluptuous seem like a four- letter word.
Audrey sized up the situation fast. “So what else do I get?”
“All right,” I muttered,“ come around tomorrow tonight.” Audrey might be more intriguing if her interests weren’t strictly confined to getting her posterior paddled. I always make her earn it.
At table six I stood by the young lady’s shoulder, gazing deliberately down into the lush cleavage revealed by clinging azure silk. Then I glanced at her companion, hoping for a reaction. It didn’t even much matter what kind.
Clear hazel eyes in a sun-ruddy face surveyed me with a hint of amusement, and recognition.
“Good evening, I’m Rory,” I said demurely. “I’ll be serving you tonight.”
The corners of her mouth twitched. (Her? Sir, on occasion, without doubt; definitely a Daddy; but yes, in my own private lexicon, Her.)
“Hi Rory,” she said. “You must be moonlighting. Didn’t we last see you covered in mud?”
“Close enough,” I acknowledged. “Art feeds the soul, but that’s about all.”
I’d been smeared with clay when they’d wandered through the collective gallery that afternoon and glanced into my studio, obviously looking for a corner just secluded enough to pretend no one could see them making out. The butch had resisted the kid’s tug on her muscle-T long enough to look appreciatively at my nudes in porcelain and stone. “Go ahead,” I’d said, as her hand hovered over the rounded marble ass of a full-bodied figure crouching on all fours. “Go on, it’s meant to be irresistible.”
The carnal magnetism of her grin hit me like pounding surf. When her big finger stroked the smooth buttocks and probed down between the tempting thighs my crotch got wet enough to dampen the clay dust layering my jeans.”

The next stop on the Forbidden Fruit blog tour is Emily L. Byrne http://writeremilylbyrne.blogspot.com who is interviewing Niki Crow.

Leave a comment on any post in the Forbidden Fruit blog tour to be entered into a random draw to win one of these great prizes. Prizes include a paperback copy of Girls Who Score, lesbian sports erotica edited by Ily Goyanes, Best Lesbian Romance 2011 edited by Radclyffe, a paperback copy of Wild Girls, Wild Nights edited by Sacchi Green, an ebook of Ladylit’s first lesbian anthology Anything She Wants, and a bundle of three mini-anthologies from Ladylit: Sweat, A Christmas to Remember and Bossy. All of these titles contain some stories written by the fabulous contributors to Forbidden Fruit: stories of unwise lesbian desire. You must include an email address in  your comment to be entered into the draw.

The Potter’s Wheel

Would you dare love a Goddess?
Selene works with the earth, finding solace in the way the clay forms beneath hands that tremble and betray her. The memory of a lost love eludes her, until one day a woman like no other wanders into her shop and reminds her that there is a Goddess in us all, some more than others.

Pomegranate: Book One in the Myth and Magic Series

What if everything you thought you knew was a lie?
Crafting spells and hanging with her girlfriend Hayden was all Persephone Carraway wanted out of life. When her mother, Demi, develops a designer pomegranate, infusing it with ritual power for Fae and witch kind alike, all bets are off. A single act of destruction unearths a bevy of secrets and lies kept hidden for centuries. Persephone is drawn into a web of myth and magick where nothing is at it seems, even herself.

Excerpt from The Potter’s Wheel:

“These are incredible,” Myna said, flashing Selene an awed expression before returning her gaze to the sculptures in front of her. “You have captured the movement of the elements so well, yet retained a feminine quality about them. Born and giving birth to creation at the same time.” Selene’s breath caught in her throat when Myna reached out to touch the smooth surface, her hands caressing the carefully wrought clay that seemed to dance beneath her touch. Strong, slim fingers found each curve much as Selene’s had years ago, channeling the movements that had created the form before fire and glaze set its shape into temporary permanence. Selene had no misconceptions about her art. Porcelain gave the illusion of strength, but it would shatter beneath an ungentle touch. “Please, be careful,” Selene begged. “What’s wrong?” “Bringing you here was a mistake, I shouldn’t have shown you these. Not when I have no intention of ever selling them.” Selene’s excuse sounded thin, even to her own ears. What she needed was Myna to stop, to stop moving…to stop teasing her with caresses that were best left to warm flesh, not cold clay and porcelain.

Excpert from Pomegranate:

“Good morning, beautiful.” Her lover stood at the counter as Allyse pulled out her order. Giving her a quick kiss, she tucked the pomegranate back into her pocket.

“Hey, there.” Dark eyes twinkled mischievously beneath the heavy black rimmed glasses. Red lips curved up like the cat that got the cream. Hayden’s arms wrapped around Persephone, pulling her into a deep kiss.  Her hand reached around for a quick grope, but Persephone slapped it away.

“Public!” Heat crept up her neck.

“Get a room you two!” Candice snickered. “And you tease us. Honestly. Raging hormones of twenty something lesbians. What do you think, Allyse? Should we hose them down?”

“I think you’re gonna get us both fired if you don’t shut up and go make some cookies.” Allyse glared.

“Girl has a point.” Hayden smiled, looping her arm around Persephone’s shoulder. “So…are you going to demonstrate these new bath salts for me or do I have to go home by myself again?”

Candice giggled, coming out of the kitchen with the mini broom and the dust pan. “Demonstration!” Persephone glared. Candice ran off, fake screaming as she swooped back into the kitchen. “Going! Going.”

Allyse rolled her eyes.

Persephone screwed up her lips into what should have been a smile but ended up as a loud burst of laughter. “Maybe we should pick up some duct tape.”

“Oh. Is something broken?” Allyse frowned.

Hayden bit her lip. “I think what she’s trying to say is the duct tape is for our friend in the kitchen.”

“Oh!” Allyse grinned. “I might just have some in my car. If it doesn’t work on her mouth, maybe I can think of some other uses.”

“I knew I liked you.” Hayden held out her hand so she and the younger girl could slap palms over the counter.

“I heard that.” A feminine growl came from the kitchen.

“Good!” Persephone replied. “Now make me some cookies.”

“And you. Draw me a bath. I have some aches that just won’t quit.” Hayden ran her fingers down Persephone’s arm.

“Oh, Goddess.” Allyse rolled her eyes again. “Go already. I’ll tell your mom you went out on an errand.”

“You’re the best.

Rhavensfyre is the collaborative pen name used by two east coast writers, Roxanne and KL, who have been partners since 2000 and were finally legally married in Washington, D.C. in 2012. They have a small farm in North Carolina where they raise and breed horses with their two dogs and several cats in tow. In their spare time, they try to keep an organic garden and enjoy the fact that their farm is also home to several owls, a mated pair of hawks, one annoying woodpecker and the occasional bald eagle. In addition to the living creatures, KL and Roxanne enjoy cycling various East Coast trails as well as hiking the Appalachian Trail. Both ladies enjoy photography and love to share images from their frequent trips through the scenic countryside.

Roxanne, known to her friends as “Roxy,” is an Oklahoma native who lived in various states before graduating from a Los Angeles area high school. An avid artist, she spent ten years in the military–both Army and Navy–before embarking upon her second career. While serving as a patriot missile operator in the Army, she landed a coveted position as post artist, allowing her to pursue her creative passion on a full-time basis. After transferring to the Navy, she served as a hospital corpsman, deployed twice to the Middle East while assigned to a USN warship. She also worked in security during her last year of active duty before leaving the military for a career in healthcare. Roxy holds two bachelor’s degrees: one in criminal justice and a second in healthcare. Her personal interests include mythology, ancient history, and psychology, and she cites walking through the ancient city of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, as one of the most amazing experiences she had while serving in the United States Navy.

KL was born in Norfolk, Virginia and lived most of her life in the South. She was professionally educated as a horse trainer and riding instructor, and she had innumerable wins in the Western Pleasure circuits until a traumatic back injury in 1999 prevented her from riding for many years. Today, she still pleasure rides, as well as breeds American Quarter Horses. KL is an avid cyclist, but her love of cycling doesn’t end with the local trails. She enjoys collecting and restoring antique bikes as well as tinkering with her own ride, doing all of the work herself. She is also accomplished in metalwork–from her work as a farrier to unique knife designs and artwork with steel and iron. Music is a big part of her life, and in her free time she enjoys strumming any of her three guitars or joining the owls by playing haunting notes on her didgeridoo.

Switching Gears is their first book. Also follow the adventures of Rowan and Chase.
